Galeazzi Ensemble to come to Newport
Newport Music Club is delighted to welcome Galeazzi Ensemble to Cosy Hall, Water Lane, TF10 7LD on Saturday 19th October at 7.30 pm. Galeazzi Ensemble was formed in 1995 in order to explore Classical and Early Romantic chamber music using instruments of the period. The group comprises Lesley Holliday, flute; Richard Wade, violin; Virginie Guiffray, viola and Gareth Deats, cello. The accomplished musicians will be playing works of well known Classical and Early Romantic music, and also sharing with the audience their passion for reviving and neglected works of lesser known composers.
Galeazzi Ensemble have performed on BBC Television and BBC Radio 3, they also regularly give concerts for festivals and music societies. The group has received acclaim from publications such as ‘BBC Music Magazine’ and ‘Gramophone’.
The programme comprises Beethoven Bagatelle G minor and String Trio D major Op 9 No 2 2nd movement; Mozart String Trio G major K 562 Allegro; and compositions by Ignace Pleyel, Rolla, Pleyel and Krommer.
